I was just taking a crap and it suddenly occurred to me that, if Bruce Wayne is so rich that he can have all kinds of special gadgets and equipment made at his whim...

...than how come he doesn't just buy out all the crime syndicates and then put the mafia goons to work on the streets keeping an eye on the cops and the general public at large?

I'm sure that if he did establish something like that then it would get a little corrupted, but still, Bruce Wayne is richer than Bill Gates. Batman can only be in one place at one time...even with Robin and Batgirl, that's still a lot of uncovered city and criminal activity going on.

Bruce Wayne doesn't really even care about Gotham, he just wants to go out and beat the crap out of people.
